Here are some of the more profitable fish caught across Azeroth. Others are used to complete several 'Achievements'. Some of those items command a premium in the Auction House.ДЇun Foods: Some seafoods have fun special effects (like turning your toon into a pirate). Leatherworking: There are a few leather-crafting recipes that make use of fish-based alchemy potions. Potions for water walking, water breathing and swimspeed immediately come to mind. When they flood the Auction House market, prices per fish drop from 3+ gold each to less than 1 gold each.ДЄlchemy: There are several useful potions and oils made from several different species of fish. WotLK fish are very profitable from time to time, but they become overfished by players using bots (against Blizzards EULA policy). Many of the stat food buffs are popular for raiding and make for very profitable opportunities selling the raw fish AND the stat food they create. Stat Foods: Most stat foods have high resale value due to the useful buffs they provide when eaten properly. All the other recipes in the 400's are part of Wrath of the Lich King Expansion and are attained via the daily cooking quests.

The trainer will also teach you one recipe (Black Jelly) in the 400's. At 350, you can train with a Grand Master Cooking Trainer and learn ten (10) new seafood recipes. Once above skill level 300, there are several important skill requirements for new recipes. Key skill-up areas for the cooking profession are: 175, 225, 240, 250, 275 and 300. Other recipes may get the aspiring chef 'over the hump' where more recipes are learnable. Some recipes have a great range of potential skill-ups, making those fish more desirable.
